How to remove iPhone red dot message alert

Have you recently found the red  dot above your iphone’s home screen green phone icon is not disappearing when you’ve check and deleted all your answer phone messages?

It seems it’s a quite common issue, but most of the answers on various forums don’t resolve the problem.

These include

    • Turning off cellular (Mobile) data
    • Turning it on and off again
    • Holding down the home screen button and the on / off switch to reset.
    • Calling your phone company and listing to the messages

None of these worked for me!

and I didn’t want to attempt another suggestion and do a complete factory rest of the phone

I found the answer was to phone my iphone from another phone and leave a message. Then call the message centre and listen to and delete the message.  The red dot went.

Hope that helps

Photo365 – Day 351 – How much?

Sometimes there’s a limit to what you need to do to promote something. In this case the price of the car wash service is stated five times. I was tempted to go up and ask how much the car wash service was…like the sketch where the person goes into Poundland and asks how much something is.

Photo365 – Day 332 – scrapyard

I was trying to get that view you see when you pass a car scrap yard where they stack the broken cars upright.

Photo365 – Day 328 – the diver

I have a 2x tele lens to review and this was the first photo I took with it to illustrate the difference between this lens and the perspective of the same shot using just the iPhone.
It’s a small glass diver ornament with a US navy diver helmet as its background.

Photo365 – Day 325 – green and red and blue

I got an iPhone Microscope in for review, so here’s a shot with it…an abstract pattern at x60…can you tell what it is?

Photo365 – Day 291 – French Horn Hotel

A traditional pub from Worksop that’s been empty for a few years. Renovation work has been done to the roof recently I assume to make the building weatherproof, but the scaffolding has gone so I guess it will stay empty for some time now. I thought I’d take a few shots of the intricate tile and glass work which will probably be lost when the rest of the renovation takes place. Taken with the iPhone and Hipstamatic.

Photo365 – Day 279 Self Portrait

Another self portrait, this time using the iPhone with a fisheye lens attached. It’s really cool lens and I’ve had a lot of fun with it so far.

Photo365 – Day 272 – things are looking up

Well the things are an iphone set to hipsatmatic with colour infrared film and a fisheye lens.

Yesterday I looked down on me in a record shop. Today I look up at the library roof. The fisheye lens crams a lot into the frame.

Photo365 – Day 244 – scarecrows

Scarecrows in the car park at Mawgan Porth. I’d spent the day on the beach without a camera so this was a snap shot on the iphone for the photo365 project.
