Photo365 – Day 270 – fly agaric

Taken today on a quick visit to Clumber Park in search of fungi. There were lots of flat topped fly agarics but not many of these closed ones. This time I not only took the closer shots but some more environmental ones like this. The 100mm has a good rounded aperture which gives great out of focus background highlights.

Pentax K20d and Pentax 100mm macro – 1/30sec at f/2.8 and ISO 200

Photo365 – Day 257 – fungi

I walked back along the canal today after a visit to the post office. I didn’t take my camera but spotted a cluster of fungi in the hedgerow. I always carry the iPhone so it was time to get the Hipstamatic out. Thankfully it takes decent close ups. This was with the camera resting on the floor I couldn’t see what I was taking but knew the lens was pointing in the right direction.

I don’t think the colour of the processing worked well for this so I neutralised the fungi which has resulted in a coloured edge effect.

Photo365 – Day 255 – fungi forage

My first trip into the woods to photograph fungi. I combined the 90min walk with part of a bag review I’m doing. So I filled the backpack full of items I would use and items I wouldn’t to get a feel for what it’s like at full capacity.

This is a small shroom, about 1in tall photographed with the Pentax K20D and 100mm macro. It’s the only variety I could find today and I only found two clumps in the whole wood.
