Creating Smiling Ivy band promo image

Steve from Sheffield reggae ska band Smiling Ivy asked me if I could provide a “pic with a little more Xmas” I’d taken a series of photos of Smiling Ivy recently for use in updating their profile. They picked one to use as an Xmas new story and I added snow using Photoshop.

A night in Fire Pit Rocks on West Street with old friends Mark Holmes & Angie Holmes, Robert Baker, Brian Webster, Wayne Furniss and Jane Civico. Lots of talk of bands, old times, anus t-shirt, teeth, and food. And several pints drunk including something that tasted like tar!

Bedroom refurb

Having steamed stripped the walls of wallpaper I pasted on a lining paper layer before painting the room in two shades of grey. I then ordered a new carpet from Wilson Carpets and added what were previously fitted wardrobes as two revamped stand alone units. Its looking quite refreshed now!

Drought unveils lost village

Derwent was a village in Derbyshire that was demolished (or technically drowned) in 1944 to make way for the Ladybower reservoir.

The extremely dry summer/autumn has allowed the left over structures to emerge and visitors went there in their hoards to walk among the ruins. It was a sight most of us have never seen…and may never see again. I went on a wet and grey morning which turned in to a nice sunlit afternoon with crisp autumn colours…and even a rainbow finished off my stroll around the reservoir.
